WAGASHI near me ( Japanese traditional sweets / dessert / confectionery )

Category: 東京( Tokyo )

Takamatsuya

This shop is located approx. 300m ( linear distance ) from Osaki station.

The shop is shown by a black arrow.

At first, I couldn’t find this shop and I passed through. I turned back and finally I could find it.

Some sweets were already sold out when I went the shop around 13:00. (>_<)

I bought Kurimushi-Yokan (Steamed chestnuts Yokan) because it looked so delicious.

Yōkan (羊羹) is a wagashi (Japanese confection) made of red bean paste, agar, and sugar.

Yokan also attracts attention as a supplemental food during exercise because Yokan is like a high calorie jelly.

Wikipedia

It contains big chestnuts and I enjoyed the natural sweetness of chestnuts !!

I ate Mame-Daifuku. This is also delicious!!

It has a slight salt taste which gains the depth of sweetness.

Shinsedo

This shop is located about 300m from Osaki-hirokoji station in a straight line.

It might be difficult to find this shop, so please try to find plant pots in front of the shop.

This shop is famous as a long-established shop selling SENBEI (rice cracker).

However, I bought the following Mame – Daifuku because it looked delicious ^^;

Mame – Daifuku : a type of Daifuku where azuki beans or soybeans are mixed into mochi and sweet filling.

Daifuku : consisting of a small round mochi (glutinous rice cake) stuffed with sweet filling.

There are various opinions about the origin of the name “Daifuku”.

According to one opinion, Daifuku is originally written 大腹餅 which means “Large belly mochi” because the feeling of fullness lasts a long time.

Another opinion says it looks like Daifuku- choja (wealthy person).

The following is just a image of Daifuku-choja (wealthy people ) in ancient time.

The above picture is Mame-Daifuku with Japanese chestnut. It tastes both sweetness of Japanese chestnut and algae salt in a good balance !!

If you like Marron glace or Mont Blanc, I think you would probably like this Mame-Daifuku (Japanese chestnut).

The above picture is Mame – Daifuku (smooth sweet bean paste).

It has a soft sweet flavor and the algae salt adds the richness of flavor.

The materials or ingredients are written on the back surface.
