The shop name in Japanese is ” 宗家 源 吉兆庵(高麗橋店)”.
Honestly, I was uncertain how to pronounce so I checked it on the internet.
Being attracted to the clean shop interior, I went into the shop.
One sweet stood out conspicuously. It was “Kingyo”.
“Kingyo” is a name of fish which is called “Goldfish” in English. Goldfish breeds vary greatly in size, body shape, fin configuration and colouration as follow [Excerpt from Wikipedia].
The following is the “Kingyo” as a sweet !! It seems to be alive ! It’s very cute (^^) !
This sweet is made with jelly having a muscat flavor and fishes are made from “Yokan”. “Yokan is a thick, jellied Japanese dessert made of red bean paste, agar, and sugar.” [Excerpt from Wikipedia]
It’s ¥270 yen at June – 2019.
